2021 begins in two months. Are you preparing your organization (company, department, club, association, etc.) for success? Have you moved your organization through the phases of Cope-Adapt-Innovate?
Covid is not going away, and if you have delayed making difficult decisions because of COVID, now is the opportune time to move forward.
My advice to you leaders is that unlike several months ago when it was “okay” to avoid making the difficult decisions because of the pandemic, I encourage you to use the pandemic as the reason to make the difficult decisions. For example
Does your company need to stop selling a product or service, but you have avoided making this decision because of internal politics?
Should your nonprofit stop offering programs because they don’t fit your mission, yet you retain them to please a board member or donor?
Have you retained poor performers?
Is it time to restructure compensation and/or benefit plans?
The “game has changed” over the past 7 months, and as people have begun to accept this, you now have the institutional power to make those decisions which are unpopular but necessary.
2021 is right around the corner. Make the necessary decisions and changes to position your organization for success!
